As we're running through the dark tunnel, our rapid feet movement echoing all around driving our adrenaline, I can hear them behind us. Yelling, whooping, banging their weapons against the walls as they chase. My heart soars and no matter how fast I run my heart seems to be miles ahead. My blood rushing through my veins like an angry river. I know she can smell me, I know she's hungry. I can hear her cold veins cry to be filled with warmth. I turn to look at her. Her nose flares as she deeply inhales the smell of my blood. She holds it in, savoring it, tasting it, loving it. She exhales and looks at me. Her grey eye's glowing with the hunger as her face is so serious and controlled. She quickly turns her head straight and grabs my hand and drags me with a force leading us closer to our exit. I hardly need to do any more running as she is doing it for the both of us. Her determintion to save us, really me, from an unworthy demise makes me feel safer. Even though it wasn't the best moment and I knew it the words just seem to pour out. "I love you." She turns towards me with a smile. "I love you too." We run out of the tunnel into the raising sunrise. She quickly pulls up her hoodie and we run to the nearest dark alley.
